Dhoni gets studious, seeks admission in B Com

New Delhi: Indian One-Day and Twenty20 skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has already made his mark on the cricket field. Now the wicketkeeper/batsman wants to get back to academics and complete his graduation.


Dhoni is aspiring to go into a college and get Bachelor of Commerce degree.


A resident of Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi, Dhoni wants to take admission in St Xavier's College through the sports quota.


Even though the college has agreed to admit him and has asked him to fill up the admission form, but the college authorities have said that Dhoni can be admitted only after they consult Ranchi University.


The decision will also have to be ratified by the Jharkhand Academic Council.

Dhoni has already met Ranchi University Sports Director Jai Kumar Sinha.


Dhoni led the Indian team that won the inaugural Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa last year and in February this year he guided the Indian One-Day team to its first-ever tri-series triumph in Australia defeating the world champions in the two finals.


He was auctioned for Rs 6 crore in Indian Premier League and will play for the Chennai Super Kings in the Twenty20 tournament starting April 18.
