SRK's Knight Riders ready for IPL stage

New Delhi: The Indian Premier League is gaining momentum and it's almost like it's Shah Rukh Khan and not Sourav Ganguly who's the public face of the Kolkata team which is now called the Kolkata Knight Riders.

"I want every youth in Indian to be a Knight Rider," Shah Rukh Khan said on Tuesday in Kolkata.

The Bollywood superstar decided to pull out all stops in Kolkata to promote his team.

And with King Khan at the helm, the drama, the action and the comedy was inevitable.

Fresh from his stint as a coach in Chak De India. Shah Rukh kept his one-liners handy.

You don't win the silver, you lose the gold," he said.

Unveiling his teams logo and mascot, the actor pledged his faith in the city and his skipper.

"Kolkata is a city of cricket, plus the fact that it comes with the benefit of Sourav Ganguly who I really admire for his grit," he said.

And apart from grabbing attention - if you're wondering what exactly SRK's role in the whole campaign is.

"I have done what I am an expert at. I created a tongue-in-cheek logo," he said about

With the kind of popularity that SRK enjoys in Kolkata, the Knight Riders will pull in crowds. And as for the game itself, they do have 'Dada of Indian cricket'.

Publicity in place, the Knight Riders sure seem ready to kickstart their battle. Of course, with a prayer:

"I'm hoping they become the best team, become world famous," Juhi Chawla said.
